EDITORIAL METHODOLOGY
How a strategy note earns its place in the Dojo.
GTO Dojo Strategy publishes practical explanations of poker decisions. Every field note should identify the spot, make its assumptions visible, explain the strategic pressure, and give the reader a decision they can practice.
Start with a decision, not a keyword
A field note begins with a recognizable table decision: positions, stack depth, action, board, sizing, and the player whose choice is being studied. The title and opening answer that question directly.
Separate the baseline from the adjustment
We explain the range or incentive behind the baseline before adding a population read. Exploitative advice must name the observed behavior that justifies it; a player label by itself is not evidence.
Make the example playable
Structured hands are checked for legal cards, board length, positions, stacks, and action order during the site build. The embedded interface uses deterministic charts and poker calculations, not an LLM, so playing an article example does not trigger a model request.
Review for transfer, not memorization
Each article should explain why the action works, identify at least one variable that can change it, and connect the reader to related decisions. We prefer a useful boundary or comparison over an isolated frequency presented as a universal rule.
Keep the record honest
Publication dates describe when an article first appeared. A material correction or strategic revision receives an updated date. Every article is stored as version-controlled Markdown so revisions remain reviewable inside the publishing workflow.
BEFORE PUBLICATION
The build enforces the repeatable parts.
- Required title, description, date, topic, and byline
- Unique titles, descriptions, and permanent slugs
- Two to five descriptive, valid internal article links
- Valid cards, boards, positions, stacks, and action sequences
- Canonical metadata, sitemap entry, and structured article data
These checks catch structural errors. Strategic usefulness still requires editorial judgment, clear assumptions, and a reader-first explanation.
